An interesting graphic I found on reddit which shows how voting patterns in Turkey have radically changed over the past 13 years.

AK Parti, in orange, is the political party of Turkish President Erdoğan, while CHP, in red, is the Republican People's Party founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the main opposition party. Other minor political parties have also made several gains in the local elections held at the end of March 2024.

The CHP has come a long way since 2011, winning the five biggest cities in Turkey, with many considering issues like the economy and inflation having been the decisive factors for the opposition's unexpected surge at the ballot box.
