Hi, I'm Karl. I'm a former diplomat with an interest in (geo)politics, technology, and entrepreneurship. Every so often I write about something I've read or am curious about.

Now

Currently based in Madrid, working on AI and statecraft. I run Westphalia Labs, where I test how AI models behave in diplomatic and foreign-policy settings: drafting joint statements, handling dissent and keeping track of who said what. My CONSENSUS eval won an award in ChinaTalk's evals contest.
